Every Skateboard has SIX main parts you need:
- Deck - Generally 7ply construction with kicks at either end
- Griptape - A sandpaper like vinyl sheet that goes on top of the deck for grip
- Trucks - The turning mechanic of a skateboard. Connects the deck to the wheels/bearing
- Wheels - Made with high grade Urethan in a variety of durometers, sizes & colours
- Bearings - 608's for those in the know, but with a slightly different build to withstand the way we use them
- Hardware - The nuts & bolts that join the skateboard deck to the trucks
Then there are a few optional parts some choose to use:
- Riser Pads - Used to increase to reduce 'wheel-bite', reduce 'stress fractures' in the deck, add Pop & more
- Rails - Also known as rib-bones, used to make boardslide & similar tricks easier, protect the decks graphic. Also add to the rigetiy of a deck & can extend its life
Then theres the smaller parts that make up some of the main parts. Eg: Trucks have multiple parts - Hanger/Axle, Baseplate, Bushings, Kingpin, Washers, Nuts, Pivot Cup
