The iconic Vans Half Cab came about in the early 90's after Steve Calallero approached Vans to rework his Pro Shoe. Taking what was happening in the streets; skaters taking high tops & cutting them down lower, leaving the shoe with ankle protection but giving more flexibility to do more advanced flip tricks. Thus, the Half Cab was born!
