About the Local Artist:

When I paint, I either go into it with a feeling I wish to convey/release, an idea I wish to see materialised, or simply just let something come about, like play. I know if I spent time falling into my subconscious I could give you the reason & deeper meaning for each piece I paint, but in honesty, I prefer people to come to their own occlusions with all of my artworks.

In recent years, having learnt to do space/galaxy spray painting as a kid watching artist do it along Cavill Ave at the Gold Coast, I started doing pieces on skateboards. For details, I find working with paint brushes can force me into more of a perfectionist mindset, while when I use pallet knife, I allow myself to "play" more. Holding less need for a piece to turn out exactly as it is in my head.

Creatives having pseudonyms has always interested me, & wanted to have one that created more questions then answers, thus Xus D. Demiurge came about. It creates a separation from the person & the art.

I skate a lot of my art pieces, it's how you finish a piece on a skateboard in my opinion. You take the chaos of the mind & create something somewhat rational, then imbue it with the chaos & marks skateboarding brings. Create! Skate! Destroy!
