Same as the axle re-threaders that come with all AF1 trucks. Need a spare re-threader this has got you covered.

Don't you hate it when you've replaced a wheel or bearing, but your beat-up truck axles are all shot up from all those primo slides you've been doing, or cooking yourself landing tricks primo. Well this can fix that for you so you can re-thread that axle & get rolling again, without de-threading your wheel nuts

How to:

Assuming your wheels, bearings n axle/wheel nut are already off & your wheel nut just wont go back on or is tilting & cross threading.

  1. Place the ACE Trucks Re-threader into your wheel nut socket on your skate tool (or 5/16 socket, you can also use a spanner or shifter but is hard to keep level & may end up cross threading your axle which isn't good, so yeah we advise a skate tool)
  2. Place over your cooked axle, making sure your skate tool is level
  3. Place a wee bit of pressure down onto the skate tool & start to turn in a clock wise manner (lefty loosy, righty tighty. You wanna start by going righty tighty). Sometimes if your axle is real busted, you will need to go back & forth clockwise & anticlockwise to start the threading process
  4. Once the re-threader starts grabbing (will feel pretty tight) take your time slowly going deeper down the thread. Proceeding one half turn (180°) clockwise, then one quarter turn (90°) anticlockwise, & repeat. Doing this helps clear the re-threader & makes sure its engaging onto the thread correctly (I learnt this as a fitter & turner)
  5. Keep repeating the one half turn 'Righty', one quarter turn 'lefty', as the re-threader moves down the thread. It should all of a sudden rotate freely meaning you've cleared the top of the axles busted threads, go may stay tight. If it does stay tight, you shouldnt have to go down any deeper then the width of the re-threader unless you've somehow munted the thread lower then the wheel nut locks on. Once at this depth or once it spins freely remove like you would a wheel nut

**Extra notes: If your axle has become angled (pretty normal for an axle to wear more on the hanger side then the base plate side dependent on deck to truck width), then ensure to make sure you start off threading level AF. Otherwise you'll cross thread your axle & f#ck it. 

Don't stress over it. It really isn't that hard to do once you get it. If your a Toowoomba Local ask us to show you how its done & we'll teach ya. If your not a local & this doesn't make sense, google it, watch a youtube clip maybe, i dunno. It really isn't that hard, you'll work it out.
